Materiality and the Meaning of Musical Instruments
A 4-day international conference at the University of Oxford and Bate Collection of Musical Instruments

The conference will take place across 4 full days, Thursday 27 - Sunday 30 June 2024.
Our main venue is the Music Faculty of the University of Oxford, which is opposite Tesco and next door to the police station at:
St Aldates

OX1 1DB
Our conference dinner on Thursday night will take place at St Cross College on St Giles, which is about a 20-minute walk from the Music Faculty.
Tea/coffee and lunch will be provided each day for conference participants, and you can sign up for the conference dinner when you register. Dinner on the other days and overnight accommodation are not included in the conference fee and will be up to you to organise.
The Bate Collection of Musical Instruments is in the same building as the conference, it will be open to the public 2-5pm on Thursday and Friday.
